1) By the end of the summer I will have taken the MCAT.
· Decide on a test date
· Study 1-2 hours a day for the next 2 months
· Take multiple practice tests
· Review MCAT flash cards
· Read over MCAT requirements and test strategies
· Read over MCAT study guides
· Get a good night’s sleep the night before
· Prepare everything I need for the next day
· Eat breakfast before I go to the test site
· Take the exam
2) By the end of June I will have applied to medical school(s).
· Decide which medical schools I want to apply to
· Fill out the AMCAS application
· Ask for letters of recommendation
· Write essays for the preliminary application
· Submit applications
· Pay application fees
3) By the end of my internship I will know exactly what it takes to be a neurologist.
· Interview neurologist’s when I can.
· Shadow a neurologist at my internship.
· Learn research methods used by neurologist’s in clinical trials.
· Discuss the role of a neurologist with nurses who work with them.
· Participate in neurological research during my internship.
· Gain clinical experience during my internship.
· Develop a neurological project to be completed during my internship
· Ask questions while on site to further understand procedures.
· Be assertive in doing any task given to me.
